TEchnologies for Propulsion and Energy Systems (TEPSE)

For the thermal engines, the main topics concerned the development of: high-pressure injection diesel combustion, dual-fuel combustion, innovative fuel spray concepts and DI-GPL, X-ray spray tomography, spray wall inpingment, knocking control in HD gas engines, DPF systems. The studies were accompanied by CFD activities (1D / 3D) for the study of the phenomenon and, where necessary, with the development of innovative models. CFD activities have also included: waste incineration, waste gasification and syngas combustion, knockdown optimization in GDI engines. With regard to hybrid / electric propulsion, the main development activities were: combined battery-supercapacitor systems, marine hybrid propulsion and CC micro-grid for the rapid recharge of electric vehicles.
